HPSDTRC was formed as a non-profit in Oklahoma to fulfill a need. We rescue dogs from local shelters and rescues, who we temperament test to see if they would be a good working dog, and train them to be service dogs for individuals with disabilities. These dogs are often considered hard to place by the shelters due to their energy level, we harness that energy level and put it to good use. We will also facilitate a therapeutic riding program also for individuals with disabilities to facilitate physical, speech, balance and social therapies. This therapy is also known as Hippo Therapy. We also have an outreach for disadvantaged and at-risk youth to volunteer with us, and through volunteering they gain self-esteem and a since of purpose and self worth. HPSDTRC operates explicitly via donations from individuals, corporations and foundation grants. For more info please visit www.hpsdtrc.org.
