Edith Hoefer of Durant, Oklahoma, passed away Sunday, October 24, 2010, in Durant, Oklahoma, at the age of 95. Edith was born Tuesday, July 20, 1915, in South Haven, Kansas, to William R. Flood and Laura M. (Congram) Flood.

 


Edith Hoefer of Durant, Oklahoma, passed away Sunday, October 24, 2010, in Durant, Oklahoma, at the age of 95. Edith was born Tuesday, July 20, 1915, in South Haven, Kansas, to William R. Flood and Laura M. (Congram) Flood.

 

Edith loved to cook and read. She was a member of the Republican Women’s Club. She received the Docent of the Year Award at the Greater Southwest Historical Museum in Ardmore, Oklahoma. She owned and worked at Hoefer Insurance Agency for 25 years. She was a member of the Methodist church.

 

She is survived by her daughter, Linda Alcock and husband, Jim of Chapel Hill, North Carolina; son, John Hoefer and wife, Janet, of Durant, Oklahoma; grandsons, Todd Alcock and wife, Jennifer of Flower Mound, Texas, and Blake Alcock of Flower Mound, Texas; great-grandsons, Brett Alcock of Flower Mound, Texas, and Garrett Alcock of Flower Mound, Texas.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, William R. Flood and Laura M. (Congram) Flood; husband, John Hoefer II; brother, Harold Flood; and sister, Bena Louis.

 

A graveside service will be held at the Rose Hill Cemetery in Ardmore, Oklahoma, on Wednesday, October 27, 2010 at 11 a.m. Rev. John Kinsey will be officiating.

 

Services are under the direction of Holmes-Coffey-Murray, Durant, Oklahoma.
