Funeral services for Cyrus H. “Steve” Stevens will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, October 28, 2010, at the Harvey-Douglas Centennial Chapel with Rev. Billy Smith and Rev. Helen Waters officiating. Burial will follow at the Mannsville Cemetery in Mannsville, Oklahoma. Family visitation will be held this evening from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home in Ardmore, Oklahoma.

Steve was born April 8, 1930, in Memphis, Texas, to the late Cyrus H. and Delilah Leota Miller Stevens Sr. He died Monday afternoon, October 25, 2010, at the Mercy Memorial Health Center in Ardmore at the age of 80 years, 6 months and 17 days.

 

Steve married the former Betty Lois Behrens on September 15, 1951, in Ardmore, Oklahoma. He worked as a chef for 50 years and enjoyed carpentry work.

 

Steve is survived by his wife, Betty Lois Stevens of the home; son, Charles H. Stevens of Ardmore, Oklahoma; daughters, Kathy Reeder and husband, Kenneth of Wilson, Oklahoma, and Vickie Lynn Stevens of Lone Grove, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Kristi Hartsell, Chasse Stevens, Tamara and Justin Williams, Richard Reeder and Tara Duffy; great-grandchildren, Alex Taliaferro, Miranda Constant, Taryn Daniel and Cole Williams; brothers, Allen E. Stevens and wife, Elsie of Tyler, Texas, Michael D. Stevens and wife, Ida of Duncan, Oklahoma, and Jerry D. Stevens and wife, Irene of Greenville, Texas; sisters, Marie Nell Jarvis and husband, James of Sherman, Texas, Alpha Lee Bogan and husband, Harold of Kansas, and Mary Jewel Thompson and husband, Jim of Sherman, Texas; brother-in-law, Jack Warren of Louisiana; and longtime friends, Bonnie Hale and Charlie Miller.

 

Steve was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Katherine Neoma Warren; and a brother, Walter H. Stevens.

 

Casket bearers will be Rick Bates, Freddie Bearden, Justin Williams, Richard Reeder, George Behrens and Carey Daniel.

 

Honorary casket bearers will be Jimmie Behrens, Kenneth Reeder and Terry Norman.
