Funeral services for Margaret Bridgman, 83, will be Friday afternoon at 2 p.m. in the Harvey-Douglas Centennial Chapel with Reverend Donny Custar officiating. Interment will follow at Provence Cemetery.

The daughter of John Volney and Winnie Faye McClure Riner, Margaret was born April 10, 1927, in Ardmore, and passed away October 26, 2010, in Healdton.

The daughter of John Volney and Winnie Faye McClure Riner, Margaret was born April 10, 1927, in Ardmore, and passed away October 26, 2010, in Healdton.

 

A lifelong resident of Ardmore, Margaret graduated from Dickson High School. She and Clarence “Salty” Bridgman were married June 9, 1945, here in Ardmore. She worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company starting as an operator and retired after 29 years as a supervisor. She also operated the Bowling Alley Café, was manager of Sarah Coventry Jewelry and owned and operated M & M Fashions. She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers and Emmanuel Baptist Church.

 

Margaret is survived by her husband of 65 years, Salty; two sisters, Betty Jean Newsom of Ardmore and Mary Lorene Kitch of Colorado; granddaughters, Susie Bible of Ardmore, Okla., and Mary Hill of Owasso, Okla.; son-in-law, Thomas Berryhill of Ardmore; and great-grandchildren, Tess, Lewis and Joseph Bible and Ryan Hill.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Donna Berryhill; her sister; and brother.
Serving as bearers will be Marvin Witt, Carroll and Randy Hendershott, Haskell Dighton, David Allen and Ken Beeler.

 

A time of visitation and support for the family will be held this evening at the funeral home from 6 to 7 p.m.
