Services for Johnny Ray Jacobs of Marietta, Okla., will be at 2 p.m. Friday, October 29, 2010, in the Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home Chapel, Marietta, with Rev. Ronnie Harris officiating. Interment will follow in Lakeview Cemetery, Marietta, under the direction of Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home and Cremation Services.

Mr. Jacobs was born July 12, 1942, in Marietta, the son of Raymond and Blanche Johnson Jacobs. He passed away Tuesday, October 26, 2010, in Mercy Health Love County, Marietta, at the age of 68.

 

A resident of Love County all of his life, Mr. Jacobs attended school at Meadowbrook and graduated from Turner High School in 1960. He served in the U.S. Army from 1963 to 1965. A farmer, Mr. Jacobs also enjoyed fishing, camping on the river and visiting with friends and relatives.

 

Preceding him in death were his parents; daughter, Teresa Oliphant; and two grandsons, Johnny E. Oliphant II and Jason “Mark” Swint.

 

He is survived by two sons and daughter-in-law, Johnny Jacobs II and wife, Karla of Bentonville, Ark., and Johnny Jacobs Jr. of Marietta; daughter and son-in-law, Wendy and Tony Swint of Springdale, Ark.; brother and sister-in-law, Ronald and Alice Jacobs of Marietta; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

 

Serving as bearers will be Anthony Roe Jr., Jeff Gunter, Randall Cavitt, Roy Pender, Michael Campbell and Jerry Parsons.

 

The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. this evening at Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home.
