Services for Robert Edgar Tate, 68, of Euless, Texas, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, November 2, 2010, in the Eastside Baptist Church, Marietta, Okla., with Chaplain Larry Schneider officiating. Interment will follow in Lakeview Cemetery, Marietta, under the direction of Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Marietta.

Interment will follow in Lakeview Cemetery, Marietta, under the direction of Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Marietta.

 

Mr. Tate was born April 14, 1942, in Tulsa, Okla., the son of Edgar and Odessa Neal Tate. He passed away Thursday, October 28, 2010, at his residence in Euless.

 

Mr. Tate had made his home in Euless for the past 41 years. He and Sharon Brewer were married in Gainesville, Texas, on April 18, 1959, and she preceded him in death on January 18, 1982.

 

Mr. Tate was a great mechanic and also worked as a sales manager for an automotive company. He enjoyed music, but most of all he loved being with his family.Mr. Tate was of the Baptist faith.

 

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; son, Robert Terry Tate; and a brother, Dale Tate.

 

Survivors include a son, Blaine Tate of Austin, Texas; daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Mike Johnson of Euless; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Johnny and Lillie Tate of Euless, Billy and Francis Tate of Haltom City, Texas, and Kenneth Tate of Duncan, Okla.; six sisters and brothers-in-law, Iona Skidmore of North Richland Hills, Texas, Shirley and George Eyster of Justin, Texas, JoAnn and Weldon Shaffer and Sue and Kenneth Whittington of Thackerville, Okla., Beverly and Homer Carmon of Marietta and Cindy Freeman of Duncan; and six grandchildren, Joshua, Jason, Amber, Preston, Ashley and Parker.

 

Casket bearers will be Blaine Tate, Preston Tate, Parker Tate, Joshua Johnson, Paul Shaffer, Don Smith, Cody Wilkinson and David Wilkinson. Honorary bearers are Jason Johnson, Mike Johnson and Jesse Ramos.

 

Viewing will be from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday at Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home.
