Members of the Plainview Track Club went to Rogers, Ark., for the 17th annual Oklahoma-Arkansas cross country meet, where the girls helped the Oklahoma squad walk away with the victory.


Members of the Plainview Track Club went to Rogers, Ark., for the 17th annual Oklahoma-Arkansas cross country meet, where the girls helped the Oklahoma squad walk away with the victory.

The girls raced on a 5K course (3.1 miles), and Alex Davis took eighth place with a time of 19:01. Manayla Miller took 16th in 19:39, while Kaitlin Moore finished 37th in 20:31. Katie Lackey was 47th in 21:45, while Alyssa Cunningham took 53rd in 22.44.

Team Oklahoma finished with a score of 84, while Arkansas ended the competition with 90 points.

Andrew Leahey had a strong performance for the Oklahoma boys squad, but Arkansas still came away with the win.

Leahey finished fourth overall with a time of 16:18 on the 5K course, as he was the first runner from Oklahoma to complete the course.

Robert Torres finished 61st in 18:34.

Arkansas won by a big margin, scoring just 68 points to Oklahoma’s 110.

Davis and Leahey will be headed to Houston on Saturday, where they will compete at the Nike Regional cross country meet.

The club will be sending runners to the National Youth Athletics cross country meet in Lexington, Ky., this weekend, where they will compete at Masterson Station Park. There will be 11 members competing in the race.
