Alene Morris Williams, 97, passed away Tuesday, November 16, 2010, at Ardmore, Okla. Services will be Friday, November 19, 2010, at 2 p.m. in The Chapel at Griffin-Hillcrest with Pastor Roy Fountain officiating. Interment will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery, Ardmore.

Alene was born November 11, 1913, in Red Oak, Okla., to William Bowling and Ammy Ila Bowling.

 

She married Jeffie M. Morris in Denton, Texas.

 

Alene lived in Fox, Oklahoma, and in Carter County most of her life. She also lived several years in Oklahoma City and Moore, Okla. She was an independent lady who enjoyed life. Her hobbies were cooking, sewing, exercising and caring for her grandchildren. She was the loving mother of four generations, always involved with her children’s activities in school. “A beautiful lady”. Everyone would be proud to call her “My Mother.”

 

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jeffie M. Morris who passed away on March 26, 1960; one brother, Lloyd Bowling; and two sons-in-law, Dewayne E. Tautfest and Leland Pratt.
Alene is survived by three daughters, Patricia Morris Tautfest of Moore, Okla., Judith Kay Pratt of McAlester, Okla., and Carlene “Chickie” Wheeler and husband, Val of Ardmore, Okla.; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Lonnie Coadean Thompson of Davis, Okla., and Alice Sasser of Tracy, California.

 

Pallbearers will be Larry Tautfest, Bobby Roberts, Casey Allen, CM Sgt. Steven Parker, Robert Thompson and Nathan Mennenga. Honorary pallbearers will be Tyler Dewayne Parker and Kaedon Kyce Allen.
