The Goddard Center is offering a free pottery demonstration from 10 to 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday in the Art Studios building.

The demonstration is geared toward senior citizens with the idea of enriching their lives through the involvement of the arts.

The class includes a wheel-throwing demonstration by artist Steven Phillips and hands-on instruction for the participants to try to make a pot of their own.

Participants will learn different methods of pottery, as well as how to use a variety of pottery tools.

“I encourage social interaction with the participants as we all share stories surrounding the learning process,” Phillips said.

The Goddard Art Studios building is located at 425 1st Ave S.W. Class size is limited and participants must to pre-register by calling the Goddard Center at (580) 226-0909.

Art Studios funding is provided in part with the assistance of the Oklahoma Arts Council and the National Endowment for the Arts.
