Mary Jo Marley, 88, passed away Wednesday, February 23, 2011, at Ardmore, Okla. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, February 28, 2011, at Griffin ~ Hillcrest Chapel, Ardmore with Reverend Steve Harris officiating. Mary Martha Ford will be the Eulogist. Internment will follow in Lone Grove Cemetery, Lone Grove, Okla.


Mary Jo Marley, 88, passed away Wednesday, February 23, 2011, at Ardmore, Okla. Mary Jo was born February 11, 1923, in Ardmore, Okla., to William Hughey Thomison and Ollie Bell Thompson.

 

She married Johnny Thomas Marley on March 20, 1940.

 

Mary Jo attended Dickson schools. She enjoyed reading and all the activities at the Ardmore Village. She wanted to acknowledge the many happy, wonderful years she had at the Ardmore Village. They were her second family and she loved all of them dearly.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband ,Johnny Marley; son, Wayne Marley; and son-in-law, Alfred Nance.

 

Mary Jo is survived by daughters, Marilyn Nance and Dena Marley; son, Steven Marley and wife, Sherryl; brother, Jay Wilford “Skeet” Thomison; sister-in-law, Hazel Thomison; grandchildren, Mary Martha Ford, Chad H. Nance, Christa J. Wiley, Dustin R. Demory, Leisha D. Gonzales, Ashley R. Wilson, Tyler J. Marley, Amanda L. Marley, Meagan J. Marley; 12 great-grandchildren; and daughter-in-law, Sheila Marley Slusher.

 

Pallbearers will be Mary Jo’s grandsons and great-grandsons, Chad H. Nance, Dustin R. Demory, Tyler J. Marley, Chase A. Towler, Chance A. Towler and Chanler A. Towler.

 

Visitation will be from 5 until 7 p.m. today, February 27, 2011, at Griffin — Hillcrest Funeral Home, Ardmore, Okla.

 

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Ardmore Village, 2401 Village Lane, Ardmore, OK 73401 in Mary Jo Marley’s name.
