Anita was born Oct. 23, 1943 in Ardmore to Ollie L. (Canterbury) Parker and Terry C. Parker.  She passed from this life on February 26, 2011 at her home at the age of 67.  She was preceded in death by her parents, two sons Jimmy Joe Hickman and Terry A. Hickman, two brothers Paul Parker and Tommy Parker and two sisters Ernestine Hickman and Radonna Flowers.

 

Anita married Jesse M. Dunning in Gainesville, Texas in 1962.  Together they raised five children and recently celebrated their 48th wedding anniversary. Anita attended Dickson Schools.  Her former jobs included medication Nurse and Aide at the Oklahoma Veterans Center, waitress and she really enjoyed working at the Salvation Army Thrift Store.  She enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchildren very much and loved them with all her heart and soul.  She loved animals especially her parrots and dogs, enjoyed garage sales, thrift stores, shopping and going to her children’s sporting events.  Anita was a member of the Trinity Baptist Church.

 

Anita is survived by her husband Jesse M. Dunning of the home, two daughters Conay Singleton and her husband Terry of Ft. Worth, Texas and Renee Roberts and husband Barry of Ft. Worth, Texas, son Bradley W. Dunning of Ardmore, brother Gary Parker and wife Caren of Ardmore, 8 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren, along with several nieces, nephews and special daughter-in-law and care giver Vonda Hickman.

 

Serving as pallbearers will be Chris Pelton, Bradley Dunning, Chuck Williams, Barry Roberts, Daniel Gardner and David Jefferson.  Special thanks to all the doctors and nurses who attended to her during her illnesses in the hospital, wound center, mercy at home and Cross Timbers Hospice for their services.
