Virginia Rose (Mason) Hunter, 67, following her courageous battle with cancer, passed away on February 27, 2011 in Ardmore.  Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, March 2, 2011 in The Chapel at Griffin-Hillcrest. Interment will follow at Provence Cemetery.

Rose was born March 26, 1943, to Reverend H.L. Mason and Mrs. Marie (Gulley) Mason in Quinten.

 

Rose graduated from Dickson High School and married her high school sweetheart, Larry D. Hunter, in 1961. Rose lived in the Ardmore area and was a member of Mary Niblack Baptist Church.  Rose was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Larry D. Hunter, one son Dennis Hunter, and two brothers; Bob Mason and Tom Mason.

 

Rose is survived by one son, David Hunter and Juana, one daughter LaDonna Sanders, and grandchildren; Nicholas Miller and Jennifer, Kally May Hunter, Trey Payne and Amber Payne, and two great-grandsons, Kole Wayne Riner and Nicholas Miller II, all of Ardmore.

 

Serving as pallbearers will be David Hunter, Nicholas Miller, Trey Payne, Doug Mason, Dale Mason, and Doug Williams.

 

Family will greet visitors from 6-8 p.m., Tuesday evening, March 1, 2011 at Griffin-Hillcrest.
