Clarence Ray Beesley, affectionately called “Diz”, of Ardmore, Oklahoma, passed away Tuesday, August 23, 2011, at his home in Oklahoma City. He was born on May 16, 1937, in Mill Creek, Oklahoma, to the late Ova Beesley and May Buford Beesley.


Clarence Ray Beesley, affectionately called “Diz”, of Ardmore, Oklahoma, passed away Tuesday, August 23, 2011, at his home in Oklahoma City. He was born on May 16, 1937, in Mill Creek, Oklahoma, to the late Ova Beesley and May Buford Beesley.

Diz was a longtime resident of this area, he and Keta May Carter were married March 18, 1962, in Dickson, Oklahoma. Keta preceded him in death on October 9, 2008. He was a member of the Baum Assembly of God Church. He retired from the Chickasaw Telephone Company, where for many years he had been a telephone installer and repairman.

He is survived by: brother, J.J. Beesley, Tishomingo, Oklahoma; brother-in-law, Russell E. Carter and wife, Lana, Blue Ridge, Texas; sisters-in-law, Reba Burgess, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Neta Dobbs and husband, Wayne, Ardmore, Oklahoma; and many nephews and nieces.

Diz was preceded in death by his wife; four infant children; six brothers; and seven sisters.

Visitation will be today from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and a family hour from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Watts Funeral Home, Madill, Oklahoma.

Services will be Friday, August 26, 2011, at 10 a.m. at the Baum Assembly of God Church, Baum, Oklahoma. Bro. Bradford Buchan will officiate. Interment will be at the Lone Cedar Cemetery, Mannsville, Oklahoma. Services will be under the direction of Watts Funeral Home, Madill, Oklahoma.
