Eric “Danger” Fields is going toe-to-toe with Friday night football.

The nationally-ranked cruiserweight and Ardmore native will be the main event at catBOX Entertainment’s Friday Night Fights at Riverwind Casino in Norman, where he’ll face Rubin Williams (29-15-1, 16 knockouts) in a fight scheduled for 10 rounds. Williams, nicknamed “Mr. Hollywood,” is a native of Youngstown, Ohio, and formerly rated in the top 15 of the world.

In the midst of a seven-fight winning streak, Fields (18-1, 14 KOs) has climbed to fifth in the U.S. cruiserweight rankings. He’s coming off an eight-round unanimous decision over Danny Batchelder on June 17 in Oklahoma City.
The fight will be Fields’ first away from the Cox Convention Center since February of 2010.

In the co-main event, Oklahoma lightweight champion Noah Zudhi (14-2, 12 KOs) will fight Richard Flores (3-15, two KOs) in a six-rounder. Also on the card is an eight-round bout between two former Fields opponents in Batchelder (25-9, 12 KOs) and Edward “The Iron Man” Gutierrez (15-9, 6 KOs). Gutierrez went the distance with Fields over six rounds in 2010, losing by unanimous decision.

ther fights include former Oklahoma City Blazers hockey player Ron “The Ice Man” Aubrey (heavyweight, 11-2-1, 11 KOs) against Sapulpa native Lee Broom (1-0, one KO), David Tabatadze (middleweight, 8-1, one KO) of the Ukraine against Angel Sigala (5-2, two KOs) of Arlington, and Maysville native Bo Gibbs Jr. (light heavyweight, 3-0, three KOs) against Alfred Dixon (2-1, two KOs) of Abilene, Texas.

Celebrities slated to be in attendance include former WBA and WBC heavyweight champion James Toney and former UFC champion and WWE professional wrestler Ken Shamrock. Toney and Shamrock will also attend the weigh-in Thursday at 7 p.m. at Riverwind.
