For the second time this week, the Ardmore Police Department has taken a robbery suspect off the street.

Cody Black, 23, of Ardmore was arrested Tuesday pending charges for robbery of the Pak-a-Sak convenience store. A tip led APD investigators to Black, who pointed a handgun at the clerk and took an undisclosed amount of cash from the store on Dec. 13.

The tip was followed up by an investigation into Black’s identity and whereabouts at the time of the crime. APD Chief Keith Mann credited the hard work of his investigators and other members of the police department for closing the case relatively quickly.

“Anytime we have crimes of violence or threatened violence, we give them high priority,” Mann said. “The safety and well being of our citizens is our primary concern. Taking a criminal off the street is always considered a win, especially when that criminal is known to use a firearm.”
