Born November 5, 1927, in Bisbee, Arizona, the son of Ollie Haskell and Bertha Beatrice Stewart Cooper, Mr. Cooper passed away Tuesday, December 27, 2011, in Lake Country Nursing Center, Marietta.

Born November 5, 1927, in Bisbee, Arizona, the son of Ollie Haskell and Bertha Beatrice Stewart Cooper, Mr. Cooper passed away Tuesday, December 27, 2011, in Lake Country Nursing Center, Marietta.

 

Mr. Cooper had been a resident of Love County most of his life. He had worked as a truck driver for the City of Marietta Sanitation Department for many years and most recently was employed as an automatic car wash attendant. Mr. Cooper enjoyed fishing and camping. He was a member of Marietta’s Eastside Baptist Church.

 

He married the former Leta Faye Riley in Portales, N.M., and the couple celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on June 19, 2011. Mrs. Cooper preceded him in death on November 6, 2011. Also preceding him in death were his parents; and four sisters, Joyce McClure, Mary Lois Low, Faye Packard and Onita Nunn.

 

He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Bobby and Gina Cooper of Kenefic, Okla.; daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Keith Isbell of Thackerville, Okla.; four grandchildren, Crystal, Keith, Kenneth and Alisha; and four great-granddaughters, Andrea, Addison, Allee and Paisley.

 

Serving as bearers will be Keith Isbell Jr., Kenny Cooper, Alisha Cooper, Michael Gray, Ray Russell and Dewayne Russell. Honorary bearers are Dr. Tom O’Connor, Faith Hospice and the staff of Lake Country Nursing Center.

 

The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 this evening at the funeral home.
