Memorial Services for James “Bill” Lorance Thompson, Jr. will be 10 a.m., Tuesday at the Craddock Memorial Chapel. Bill was born Feb. 8, 1942 to Jim Joseph and Callie Isaac Thompson in Tahlequah.  He passed from this life on April 20, 2012 at his residence in Ardmore at the age of 70. He was preceded in death by his parents and 3 sisters Ella, Ruby and Louise.

Bill was born Feb. 8, 1942 to Jim Joseph and Callie Isaac Thompson in Tahlequah.  He passed from this life on April 20, 2012 at his residence in Ardmore at the age of 70. He was preceded in death by his parents and 3 sisters Ella, Ruby and Louise.

 

Bill was sent to boarding school at the age of 6 and then after he attended school at Chilocco Agriculture School. He served his country in the U.S. Army in the 1960’s and retired from the Chickasaw Nation in maintenance. He was of the Baptist faith.  He loved to fish, be outdoors, watch sports and old movies.

 

He is survived by his brother Jocob Thompson of Ardmore, cousins Charles, Vurner Jean and husband Bill Townsend, aunt Elizabeth Thompson Rich, nieces Kathie Martin and husband Bill and Angelia Myers and husband Billy.

 

Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Thompson, Bill Townsend, Chuck Sharp, Jason Wallace, Michael Wallace and Joseph Wyatt.
