A dramatic three-game series between No. 5 Oklahoma and No. 10 Missouri had another extra inning ending in Saturday’s game as Oklahoma lost 4-2 in eight innings.


 


The loss dropped OU to 37-7 and 12-4 in the Big 12 while Missouri moved to 34-9 and 11-6. Despite the loss Saturday, freshman Lauren Chamberlain tied the OU single season record with her 20th home run.

Coming a day after the Sooners defeated the Tigers 2-1 in 10 innings, Chamberlain tied Lynette Velazquez (1999) and current OU volunteer coach Lisa Carey (2000) for the single season home run record by sending her 20th blast out in the game’s third inning.

 

As of Saturday, the Trabuco Canyon, Calif., native was just four home runs away from tying the Big 12 single season record for homers.
