The championships will continue through Sunday.

OU's George Alex, who exhausted his collegiate eligibility this season, and senior-to-be Riley Masters will compete for Team USA in distance running events.

Alex will run the 5,000 meters and Masters the 1,500 meters, the same events the two competed at the recent U.S. Olympic Trials in Eugene, Ore. Alex is Oklahoma's record holder in the mile run (3:58.76), the indoor 3,000 meters (7:52.92) and the 5,000 meters (13:35.27). Masters is the OU record holder in the 1,500 (3:37.19) and ran legs on the Sooners' record-setting distance medley and 4x800-meter relays. The Bangor, Maine, product was the 2012 Big 12 1,500-meter run champion.
