Lakeview beats Dornick Hills in Maxie Cup

Lakeview Golf Club brought home the crown again, besting cross-street rivals Dornick Hills 13-7 to win the Maxie Cup on Sunday.

Lakeview held on to a narrow lead headed into the final day of play. The defending champions fell behind by three points before rallying in fourball play to take a 5.5-4.5 lead after Day 1 at Dornick Hills Country Club.

Then, on home soil, Lakeview took over in singles play, winning seven of 10 matches.

Dornick Hills’ ladies won the Maxie Cup 11-1, while the Dornick Hills seniors were also winners, 12-8 over Lakeview.
