  • Ardmore graduate Travis Galbreath helped the Large West All-State team to a 78-69 victory over the Large East at the Oklahoma Coaches Association All-State games Thursday at Oral Roberts University’s Mabee Center.
Galbreath, who will attend Seminole State on a basketball scholarship in the fall, was a late addition to the All-State roster this week. He scored six points in the Large West’s victory.
“I was real happy for him,” said Ardmore boys basketball coach Mark Wilson, who attended the game. “I can guarantee you he was the only kid in the large school game that was a starting quarterback, point guard and shortstop. You don’t see many kids that play such key roles in all sports. It’s a really good accomplishment.”
Galbreath said he was picked up for the All-State game on Tuesday. He enjoyed the experience of going up against top competition from around the state.
“It was good; it was a fun experience,” Galbreath said. “It was an honor to get picked by the coaches.”
It was the second postseason game this summer for the All-Ardmoreite Player of the Year. Galbreath also participated in the Oklahoma Basketball Coaches Association All-Star game in June.
