Effie L. Hutchins, a resident of Wilson, was born Mary 26, 1916 in Nebo, Oklahoma to George O. and Bertha (Johnston) Pritchard. She passed away Friday, August 24, 2012, at Wilson, Oklahoma at the age of 96 years, 2 months and 28 days.


Effie L. Hutchins, a resident of Wilson, was born Mary 26, 1916 in Nebo, Oklahoma to George O. and Bertha (Johnston) Pritchard. She passed away Friday, August 24, 2012, at Wilson, Oklahoma at the age of 96 years, 2 months and 28 days.

 

Effie had lived in Southern Oklahoma all her life, graduating from Mill Creek High School in 1933. She and James Hutchins were married on January 25, 1936 in Carter County, Oklahoma. They lived in Gene Autry for over 30 years. While there, Effie served as postmistress for 30 plus years. After her retirement, they moved to the Sulphur area in 1987 and Effie helped her husband with the cattle business. She was a member of the Nebo Church of God.

 

Effie was preceded in death by her husband on January 30, 2006. She was also preceded in death by her parents; a grandson, Craig Hutchins; a brother, Albert Pritchard; and two sisters, Tula Grider and Lucille Runyan.

 

Survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Pat and Darlene Hutchins, of Wilson, Okla.; three grandchildren and spouse, Cord Sikes Hutchins, Don and Maria Blodgett and Charlette Hawkins; numerous great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

 

Graveside services are 2:30 p.m. today at Drake Cemetery with Sherry Kendrick officiating. Interment will follow in Drake Cemetery.
