Services for Jack L. Sloan, 91, will be held Monday morning at 11 a.m. at the Trinity Baptist Church with Reverend Terry Tolbert officiating. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery. A time of visitation and support for the family will be this afternoon at the funeral home from 4 till 5:30 p.m.
The son of the late Jess Lee and Jewel Williams Sloan, Jack was born January 20, 1921, in Ardmore, and passed away on September 4, 2012, in an Oklahoma City hospital.
Jack and the former Clura B. Adams married August 24, 1947, in Ardmore. Clura preceded him in death April 18, 2009.
A graduate of Ardmore High School, the Class of 1938, Jack received his Bachelor of Industrial Arts degree from Southeastern Oklahoma State University. After graduation, Jack joined the United States Army Air Corp and served honorably during World War II.
Jack retired as Store Manager of C.R. Anthony, clothing store in Ardmore; was a member of the Trinity Baptist Church, Joy Chorus, Goldenaires, Sigma Tau Gamma, and the Chamber of Commerce.
Jack is survived by two daughters, Karen Burden and husband, Rick of Midland, Texas, and Janey Myers and husband, Bryan of Yukon, Okla.; his brother, Joe Marion and wife, Dee of California; seven grandchildren, Stephanie Cooney, Jared Burden, Adam, Jason, Stephen, Clayton, and Josh Myers; and three great-granddaughters, Ella Sloan Cooney, Lila Campbell Cooney, and Elliana Kaye Myers; and numerous nieces and nephews.
His grandsons and grandson-in-law, Michael Cooney, will serve as pallbearers.
