  • Mary Lou Barnes, 81, passed away Tuesday, September 11, 2012, in Lone Grove, Okla. A gathering for family and friends in remembrance of Mary will be from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Friday, September 14, 2012, at Griffin-Hillcrest Funeral Home.
    Mary was born September 4, 1931, in Madill, Okla., to Willis and Lou Hartin. At the age of 14, she began working, after the death of her father, to help take care of her mother. Mary was a dedicated, dependable and hard-working employee, working for the Squeeze Inn Café, Anastasia's Pizzaria, JR's Corner and Gold Mountain Casino. She worked for 65 years until the age of 79.
    Mary was preceded in death by her parents; and siblings, Laura Hartin Rushing, James Curtis Hartin, Paul Hartin, Haskell Jennings Hartin, Fred Hartin, Clara Madeline Hawkins, Marqurite Hartin Coe and Agnus Hartin.
    She is survived by her daughter, Cindi McKenzie and husband, Larry; grandsons, Joshua Paul McKenzie and Jared Matthew McKenzie; great-granddaughters, Hailea Furr, Brooklynn McKenzie, Taylor McKenzie and Kirstin McKenzie; great-grandson, Hunter McKenzie; inherited daughter, Beverly Conatser Sadler; and a four-legged daughter, CJ.
