  • Funeral Services for Billie J. Tipps are scheduled for Monday at 2 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Dan Patman and Rev. Jessica Moffatt-Seay officiating. Interment will follow in Bomer Point Cemetery in Wilson. The family will receive friends at the Craddock Funeral Home this afternoon from 4 to 5 p.m.

    Mrs. Tipps was born July 30, 1924, in Healdton, Okla., to Thompson H. and Marie Hoskins Horton. She passed from the life on Sept. 13, 2012, in a local hospital.
    She and Harold G. Tipps were married January 15, 1946, in Oklahoma City, Okla.
    She lived in the Ardmore area all of her life and was a member of the First United Methodist Church for 57 years. She was mainly a homemaker, but had worked several years at the Tipps Boy's Grocery. All who knew Billie experienced her warm spirit and compassionate heart. She loved and truly cared about everyone she met, young or old.
    She is survived by her son and daughter- in- law, Ronnie and Lou Ann Tipps of Ardmore; two grandsons, Chad E. Tipps of The Colony, Texas, Rod R. Tipps and his wife, Wynette, of Gainesville, Texas; three granddaughters, Kimberly and Stan Koop of Norman, Okla., Kristin Tipps of Tulsa, Okla., and Lindsey Tipps of Oklahoma City, Okla.; great-grandchildren, Lauren Tipps, Ally Tipps, Gavin Tipps, Ben Koop, Grace Koop, Carley Koop, and Sloane Tipps; and numerous friends and relatives.
    She is preceded in death by her parents, Thompson and Marie Horton; husband, Harold Tipps; son, Kent Tipps; and brother, Jack Horton.
    Serving as pallbearers will be Rod Ryan Tipps, Chad Eric Tipps, Michael D. Tipps, John Wayne Tipps, Robin Thomas Tipps, Don Roe.
