  • Melba Letha (Furrh) Hagood, 88, of Lebanon, Oklahoma, passed away Tuesday, September 18, 2012, at her home in Lebanon. She was born on September 28, 1923, in Healdton, Oklahoma, to the late Roy Sampson Furrh and Viola Annabelle Lenderman Furrh.

  • Melba Letha (Furrh) Hagood, 88, of Lebanon, Oklahoma, passed away Tuesday, September 18, 2012, at her home in Lebanon. She was born on September 28, 1923, in Healdton, Oklahoma, to the late Roy Sampson Furrh and Viola Annabelle Lenderman Furrh.
    Melba was raised in Love County and later moved to Orr, Oklahoma. She married Dolph Eugene (Brown) Hagood Jr., on March 6, 1940, in Gainesville, Texas, and he preceded her in death on January 8, 1993. In 1958, she moved to Lebanon where she owned and operated Brown's One Stop for the rest of her life. Melba was a member of the Lebanon Baptist Church, Homemakers Club in Love County and she enjoyed sewing, quilting, playing dominos, doing ceramics, planting flowers and dancing.
    She is survived by: children, Barbara O'Neal Ruzicho, Powell, Ohio, Ronnie Joe Hagood and wife, Karoleen, Lebanon, Oklahoma, Kay Muncrief and husband, Ronnie, Madill, Oklahoma, and Randy Hagood and wife, Martha, Lebanon, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Brian Muncrief and wife, Natalie, Madill, Oklahoma, Ronda Douthit and husband, Ray, Madill, Oklahoma, Andrew Ruzicho and wife, Caroline, Columbus, Ohio, Cassie Robinson and husband, Sheldon, Westerville, Ohio, Alan Crook and wife, Teresa, Lebanon, Oklahoma, Danette Reynolds, Ardmore, Oklahoma, and Greg Crook and wife, Mandy, Ardmore, Oklahoma; great-grandchildren, Devin Muncrief, Zachary, Kaylee and Aliya Douthit, Alexa Robinson, Daniel Hong Ruzicho, Ryan Hagood, Shara Kimbro, Dusten Kennedy, Tori and Trace Crook and Makenzie and Morgan Crook; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
    Melba was preceded in death by her parents; husband; grandson, Randall Hagood; granddaughter, Amy Hagood; two brothers; and one sister.
    Memorials may be made to the Lebanon Baptist Church Building Fund.
    Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. with a family hour from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Watts Funeral Home, Madill. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, September 22, 2012, at the Watts Memorial Chapel, Madill, Oklahoma. Roy Vinson will officiate the services. Music arranged by Karoleen and Jackie Hagood. Interment will be at the Lebanon Cemetery, Lebanon, Oklahoma.
    Casket bearers: Jerry McGill, John Kennedy, Larry Gilcrease, Mike Bean, Salty Melton and Bobby Shebester.
