  • Bessie Faye Nixon, a resident of Wynnewood, was born on December 16, 1932, in El Dorado, Okla., to Anna Lou (Doyle) and Jess Tyner. She passed away on Thursday September 20, 2012, in Norman, Okla., at the age of 79 years 7 months and 4 days. She married Luke Ratliff in Ardmore, Okla., on October 9, 1948. She later married Art Nixon in Gainesville, Texas. They both preceded her in death. She had spent the majority of her life as a homemaker, but spent some time as a dietician for the Veterans Center in Ardmore, Okla. She had attended church at the Flowing Waters Church in Wynnewood as well as, the First Baptist Church in Davis. She was also preceded in death by two daughters, Deborah Ratliff and Kathy Smith; and nine brothers and sisters.
    She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Gayle and Jim Taman of Wynnewood, Okla., Sharon and Jerry Wyatt of Joy, Okla; special sister, Mary Joyce Hicks and husband, Doyle of Ardmore, Okla.; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and numerous special nieces and nephews
    Services will be held on Monday September 24, 2012, at the DeArman Funeral Chapel at 2 p.m., officiated by Rev. Curt Bartmess. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery in Ardmore, Okla.
