  • Author, lecturer and grief counselor Doug Manning will present a free seminar on the difficult journey of grief beginning at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Ardmore Convention Center.
    "Don't Take My Grief Away From Me," is sponsored by Cross Timbers Hospice.
    "We invite anyone who is interested to join us," said Shelly Murray, Cross Timbers Hospice spokesperson.
    Manning is characterized as "one of the early pioneers in the study of grief."
    He describes his three decade mission as "running around the world letting people know they are normal."
    A former minister, Manning has authored 30 books dealing with grief and elder care. He also worked with professionals and families involved in the Oklahoma City bombing, Jonesboro, and the 9/11 World Trade Center and Pentagon terrorist attacks.
    Featured in national conferences and conventions in the U.S., as well as Canada, Australia and New Zealand, Manning blends humor with insight to produce a meaningful seminar experience.
