Graveside funeral services for Edith Dismuke Cagle will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 26, 2012, at Denton Cemetery located nine miles west of Marlow, Okla. The Rev. Tony Elkins will officiate. Services are under the direction of Craddock Funeral Home.
Mrs. Cagle was born December 4, 1914, at Stonewall, Okla., to Charley and Allie Martin Dismuke. She passed this life on September 24, 2012, at her home in Ardmore.
She was married to John Chester Cagle at Anadarko, Okla., on May 9, 1936. They made their home in Sterling, Okla., where they worked side by side in a construction business and also as swine producers. He preceded her in death on August 27, 1991. Following their retirement, they moved to Ardmore to be near their daughters.
While in Sterling, she was active in the Sterling Assembly of God Church where she taught Sunday School and was President of the Women's Missionary Group. Upon moving to Ardmore, she became an active member of the Bethel Assembly of God Church where she was honored as Mother of the Year.
She is survived by two daughters, Jeannine Rehwalt and husband, Harvey, Ardmore, and John Etta Murray, Ardmore; a sister, Pat Olson, Hawarden, Iowa; three grandchildren, Harvey Lloyd Rehwalt and wife, Elizabeth, Denver, Colo., Jason Rehwalt, Ardmore, and Amy Knapp and husband, Dee, Marlow; and a great-grandson, John David Adams, Marlow.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and a grandson, Ronald Vaughn.
Memorials may be made to Cross Timbers Hospice, 207 C Street NW, Ardmore, OK 73401. Family visitation will be from 6 to 7 this evening at Craddock Funeral Home.
