“Mother Road” by Dorothy Garlock will be the second featured book of the Let’s Talk About It, Oklahoma series at Wilson Public Library Thursday evening.
Starting at 6:30 p.m., those in attendance will discuss the book, which is set in 1932 along Route 66 near Sayre. The author writes about a steady stream of dust bowl refugees and local towns folk who stop by a garage owned by a one-legged man for fuel, water and rest.
The book thrives on people’s curiosity about Route 66.
Dr. Carol Humphrey will be the program speaker, and has received numerous awards for her papers through the American Journalism Historians Association.
This program is free and open to the public. To ask questions, call Betty Manley, branch manager at (580) 668-2486 or (888) 520-8102.
