  • For the fifth consecutive season, the college football season will begin at Cowboys Stadium with LSU and TCU squaring off in the “Cowboys Classic” on Aug. 31. The game will be nationally televised on either ESPN or ABC.
The game will be a matchup of two teams that have previously posted victories in the “Cowboys Classic” Labor Day weekend showcase with TCU claiming a 30-21 win over Oregon State in 2010 and LSU topping Oregon 40-27 in 2011.
This will be the third appearance at Cowboys Stadium for both squads, with TCU topping BYU in a conference game in 2011 and LSU knocking off Texas A&M in the 2011 AT&T Cotton Bowl Classic.
This season’s Cowboys Classic is the fifth year of a long-term agreement between ESPN and Cowboys Stadium to bring a top college football game to Arlington, during the Labor Day holiday weekend.
