  • Opera Southeastern, a part of the Department of Music at Southeastern Oklahoma State University, will present “Opera: A Gala Concert,” Friday in the Fine Arts Recital Hall.

  • Opera Southeastern, a part of the Department of Music at Southeastern Oklahoma State University, will present “Opera: A Gala Concert,” Friday in the Fine Arts Recital Hall.


    The concert begins at 7:30 p.m. and there is no admission charge.


    “This opera gala will be a celebration of operatic literature through performances of arias, duets, and scenes," said Jeremy Blackwood, director of opera theatre. “It is a concert of operatic hits.”


    The performance will include selections from operas such as “Le Nozze di Figaro,””” Die Zauberflöte,” and “Così fan Tutte” by W.A. Mozart, “Il Trovatore” by Giuseppe Verdi, “Les Contes d’Hoffmann” by Jacques Offenbach, and “Street Scene” by Kurt Weill.


    Dr. Robert McFadden will serve as accompanist.
