Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Funeral Home, Ringling.
Betty was born July 2, 1943, at Ringling, to the late Mr. Truman Dollfus "T.D." Branch and Mrs. Birtie Agnes (Baker) Branch. She departed this life Thursday, October 4, 2012, at her home in Loco.
Betty was raised in Loco and attended school at Mountain Home and Ringling. She married Mr. Tommy Jr. Apala on August 6, 1959, at Gainesville, Texas. He preceded her in death on August 22, 1965. She later married Mr. Stanley Lach Jr., August 31, 1966, at Lawton. They resided mostly in Loco and Betty was employed in the healthcare industry most recently for Ideal Home Care of Healdton. She was known as MeMe to her grandchildren and loved spending time with all of her family. Every Sunday she enjoyed cooking "Sunday Dinner" for all of her family. She passed on her cooking abilities to her grandchildren by providing cooking lessons and loved to craft things out of wood for all of them. She made rocking chairs, beds, lawn ornaments and all kinds of other furniture for them to enjoy. She was originally a member of the Center Point Baptist Church but proclaimed the First Baptist Church of Ringling as her home church.
In addition to her first husband, Tommy, also preceding her in death were her parents, Mr. T.D. and Mrs. Birtie (Baker) Branch; son, Michael Ray Apala – Nov. 7, 1986; and brother, Truman Branch.
Survivors include her husband, Mr. Stanley Lach Jr., of the home; daughters, Becky Adams of Wilson, and Penny Treadwell of Healdton; sons, Tony Apala and wife, Staci and Orry Lach and wife, Allison, both of Loco; brother, Tom Branch and wife, Betty Lou of Pauls Valley; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and numerous other family and friends.
Pallbearers are Nathan Dorsey, John Way, Joe Blackwell, Kelby Loring, Robby Stockton, Patrick Tarrant and Mark Treadwell.
Honorary bearers are Weston Adams, Devon Treadwell, Randy Apala and Tommy Apala.
Special thanks to Cross Timbers Hospice and Ideal Home Care for all heartfelt care and support during Betty's illness.
Family visitation will be from 6-8 this evening at Alexander Funeral Home of Ringling.
