Family and friends will gather at Macedonia Baptist Church Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2012 at 11 a.m., to celebrate the life of Ronald Gene Murph, age 55. Ronald was born Sept. 1, 1957 in Ardmore and departed this life Oct. 4, 2012 in Mercy Memorial Hospital following an extended illness. Interment will follow in Clearview Cemetery. Pastor John Roberts will officiate and Ronald's uncle, Carl Loftis, will deliver the eulogy. Ronnie, as family and friends knew him, was a lifetime resident of Ardmore. He attended Ardmore Public Schools, and during his youth united with Macedonia Baptist Church, where he was one of the lead singers in the youth choir. Ronnie worked at Stromberg-Carlson and the Ardmore Veterans' Center.
Ronnie loved to sing. He loved music, and especially loved the music composed and sung by Stevie Wonder, James Cleveland, and Marvin Sapp. Additionally, he had a great love for western movies and owned a mass collection of them.
Ronnie is survived by a daughter and her husband, Angel and Kenneth Wayne Taulton, Jr., and their children, Sedrick Cotton, Jr., Aja Murph, Anthony Taulton, Lakevia Taulton, and Keondra Taulton, all of Cedar Hill, Texas; mother, Wanda Anderson, Ardmore; father, Olen Murph Jr., Boston, two brothers, Anorda Murph, Tulsa, and Ricky Murph, Ardmore; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Margaretta and Dwight Rogers, Monica and Timothy Milo, all of Ardmore; his maternal grandmother, Amy Loftis, a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and many friends.
Robert was preceded in death by a sister, Juanita McCarroll, Sept. 7, 2010, his step-father, Robert Anderson, March 18, 2007, and his maternal grandfather, Elredis Loftis Dec. 11, 1976.
Pallbearers are nephews, Josh Murph, Cormel Houston, Darnel McCarroll, Dwight Rogers, Jr., and Marchello Anderson; flower bearers are nieces, Kamiah Anderson, Tamiah McCarroll, Dominique McCarroll, Renisha Murph, Riquinda Murph, and Quanesha Rogers.
Services are entrusted to the care of Kirk Funeral Home. Viewal will began in the Chapel Tuesday morning at 10 a.m. The family will receive friends in Kirk Chapel Tuesday evening between 6 and 8 p.m.
