Details surrounding the death of a local man, whose body was discovered early Monday in the yard of his southeast side residence, remain sketchy as Ardmore police continue their probe into what investigators have labeled a homicide.
Police Chief Keith Mann said late Monday afternoon attempts to notify the victim's family concerning his death had not been successful.
"Until we make notification we really aren't going to release any more information than was released earlier," Mann said.
Mann reserved comment concerning the manner in which the victim died. However, he did confirm while the victim was discovered lying face down in his front yard, the attack that ended his life occurred inside the residence.
Sgt. Ryan Hunnicutt, APD Public Information Officer, said earlier in the day officers responded about 7:45 a.m. to a trailer park located at 980 Lake Murray Drive when the victim's body was discovered. The homicide label was attached to the case early Monday morning.
