  • Funeral services for James Dewayne Gunsolus, 37, will be 2 p.m. Thursday, October 11, 2012, in the Centennial Chapel of the Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home with the Reverend Don Waters officiating. Interment will follow at Newport Cemetery.
    Born on June 7, 1975, in Ardmore, Oklahoma, to James Cecil Gunsolus and Patsy Smith Hawkins, James passed away on October 5, 2012.
    A lifetime resident of Ardmore, James had attended the Dickson Schools. He enjoyed watching wrestling on TV. James was all about his family, he loved his kids and spending time with them. Those who know James would tell you, he always had a smile on his face and that he loved his grandma and grandpa. James was employed with Dollar General as a security guard. He was a member of the Faith Tabernacle Church.
    He is survived by his mother, Patsy Marie Hawkins and husband, Dennis; father, James Gunsolus; daughters, Shaudey Gunsolus, Kamie Braxton and Destini Rouviere; sons, James Braxton (J.D.) and Alex Davis; fiancée, Virginia Lane and her children, Trinity Lane and Kaylee Rouviere; sister, Angela John and husband, Daniel; brother, Brandon James and wife, Jennifer; grandfather, the Rev. Billy D. Smith; grandmother, Jimmie Gunsolus; special uncle, Lonnie Smith and wife, Melinda; special aunts, Cindy Bryson and husband, Melvin and Sherry Gibson and husband, William.
    He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Wanda Smith; brother, Dustin Chance; cousin, Robin "Robby" Ritter Jr.
    Pallbearers will be: Brandon James, Billy Studeman, Bobby Studeman, Randy Bryson, Michael Smith and Jared Smith. Honorary bearers will be: Dakota Bryson, Harlen Bryson, Noah Bryson, Daniel John, Brandon Christenson, Dylan Southerland, Billy Davis, Larry Rouviere and Cameron Burnett.
    The family will receive friends from 6-8 this evening at the Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home.
