The Public is invited to the Davis Public Library, Saturday to watch the launch of rockets built by teens during summer reading program.
As part of Davis Public Library's Summer Reading Program, "Dream Big — Read," 16 teens spent a Saturday in August creating and building their rockets. However, the burn ban caused the launch to be cancelled until further notice.
"We have waited patiently for the end of the burn ban," said Branch Manager Shannon Bever. "Our teens are ready for the launch." This free event will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Those attending are invited to cheer on the teens as their individual rockets soar into the sky. In addition, the library will have their monthly "come and go craft" for anyone wishing to make a Halloween Mobile.
"Come for the launch, stay for the craft," said Bever.
