  • Route 66 reading/discussion program concludes today

  • The Wilson Public Library will conclude the “Let’s Talk About It, Oklahoma” reading and discussion series, “Get Your Reading Kicks on Route 66” at 6:30 p.m. today. The final book will be “West on 66: A Mystery” by James H. Cobb with discussion led by scholar William Hagen.

  • The Wilson Public Library will conclude the “Let’s Talk About It, Oklahoma” reading and discussion series, “Get Your Reading Kicks on Route 66” at 6:30 p.m. today. The final book will be “West on 66: A Mystery” by James H. Cobb with discussion led by scholar William Hagen.


    Hagen will discuss what the most memorable cars where, what the main character’s relationship with cars express and if the book inspires those in attendance to travel to an historic location  on Route 66.


    Hagen is a recently retired English professor at Oklahoma Baptist University and taught Western Civilization and upper level courses in fiction, drama and film for 38 years. He has been active in the LTAIO program since 1985, co-authored the “Let’s Talk” series “The Oklahoma Experience: Revisions” and is currently at work on another series featuring mysteries set in Oklahoma.


    Books, services and other materials for this series of programs are provided by LTAIO.


    The program is free and open to the public. Copies of the book are available at the Wilson Public Library.
