Plainview third baseman Tiphani Napier and Dickson outfielder Bryanne Knox were each selected to the Middle West All-State team, as announced Wednesday by the Oklahoma High School Fastpitch Softball Coaches Association.

The seniors will play in the All-State game against the Middle East team this summer at a date to be announced.

Napier was one of the top all-around players in the area as a senior, hitting .453 with seven home runs (team high), 42 runs batted in and an on-base percentage of .496.

Napier is Plainview's second All-State selection in as many years (C.J. Hornback, 2011).

"It's been really great having Tiphani the last four years," Plainview coach Alicia Foster said. "Over the last four years, she's really developed as a really good hitter. We're hoping she's able to continue her career and play college somewhere."

Knox, the Comets' center fielder and leadoff hitter, led Dickson in batting average (.495), on-base percentage (.531), hits (52), runs (37) and stolen bases (49).

"She is a cornerstone of the program," Dickson coach David Gardner. "When she gets on base, she puts tons of pressure on the defense."

"She means as much to the program as any kid I've ever coached as far as work ethic and what she brings to the program every day. She works extremely hard and is very deserving of All-State."

Napier and Knox, each four-year starters, were All-Ardmoreite Super Team selections as sophomores and juniors.

The 2012 All-Ardmoreite fastpitch softball honors will be released on Sunday.
