  • Donald Ray Carroll, 75, passed away on Friday, Nov. 2, 2012 at his home in Ardmore, Okla.
    Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2012, at New Covenant Fellowship Church with Pastors Bill and Bobby Freeman officiating. Services will conclude at the church.
    Don was born on Jan. 24, 1937 to Edgar Dewey Carroll and Amanda Pearl (Jackson) Carroll at Ardmore. He attended Springdale Elementary and Dickson High School. In his youth, he enjoyed drag racing. After high school, Don moved to Kansas to work the wheat harvest. During the oil boom, he worked in the oilfields as a roughneck traveling throughout the United States. Later, he enjoyed self-employment by hauling sand from a sand pit that he owned. In 1994, he began working in the tire industry. He loved farming and deer hunting and, even when employed at other occupations, would always find time to keep up with the farm.
    Don was preceded in death by his parents, and sisters; Valora Carroll and Christine Carroll.
    He is survived by his sons; Bryan Carroll and wife, Pam, Mark Carroll and wife, Lois, and adopted son, Jody Beard and wife, Ann. Daughter; Madison Carroll. Grandchildren; Michael Carroll, Adam Carroll, Clint Carroll, and Ross Carroll, and six great-grandchildren.
    Pallbearers will be Michael Carroll, Adam Carroll, David May, and Doug Brown.
    In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cross Timbers Hospice, 207 C Street NW, Ardmore, OK 73401.
