  • Graveside services for Earnest E. Gambel, 90, are scheduled at 11 a.m. Thursday in Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev.'s Leonard Ezell and Terry Tolbert officiating. The family will receive friends from 4:30 to 6 at a visitation this afternoon at the Craddock Funeral Home.

  • Graveside services for Earnest E. Gambel, 90, are scheduled at 11 a.m. Thursday in Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev.'s Leonard Ezell and Terry Tolbert officiating. The family will receive friends from 4:30 to 6 at a visitation this afternoon at the Craddock Funeral Home.
    Mr. Gambel was born April 20, 1922, in Claremore, Okla., to Earnest T. and Grace Robinson Gambel. He passed this life November 5, 2012, in Ardmore.
    He and Sue Zellner Lasley were married in Ardmore on July 2, 1966. He had lived in Ardmore for over 50 years and was a member of First Orthodox Baptist Church, now Trinity Baptist Church. Mr. Gambel worked for OG&E for many years and after retirement worked as a Transport for various car dealerships in the area. He honorably and faithfully served his country during WWII in the U.S. Air Corp.
    He is survived by his daughter, JoLynn Doty and her husband, George of Ardmore; his grandchildren, Garrett Evin Doty of Ardmore, and Audra Doty-Bromagem and her husband, Kenny of Yukon, Okla.; great-grandson, Evin Doty of Ardmore; and several cousins. He is also survived by his best friend and constant companion, Rufus.
    Memorials may be left to the Greater Southwest Historical Veterans Museum.
