Graveside funeral services for Charles W. Rossman will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, 2012, at Rose Hill Cemetery. Dr. Alton Fannin will officiate. Funeral services are under the direction of Craddock Funeral Home. Charles was born July 13, 1926, at Osawatomie, Kan., to Karl Rossman and Pauline Rose Rossman. He died at his home on Nov. 6, 2012, following an extended illness.
Charlie was a veteran of World War II while serving in the United States Navy.
He graduated in 1949 from the University of Kansas School of Engineering and Architecture.
He was married to the former Brunhilde Rau Mueller on Jan. 19, 1969, at Marietta, Okla. He had been a resident of Ardmore for the past 32 years and was a member of the First Baptist Church. He had been a member of the Masonic Fraternity, Paola, Kan., for 60 years.
He had a long career in the oil industry beginning as petroleum engineer with Texaco/Chevron. While working for Texaco/Chevron, they sent him to Indonesia as general manager for Caltex Pacific, Indonesia. He retired from Caltex in 1981. While living in Indonesia, he was active in his church, sometimes filling in as lay minister. He loved music and enjoyed playing the piano. Upon his retirement, he became a consultant for various oil companies, including British Petroleum in London, Prudhoe, Alaska, North Sea, Venezuela and five years in Kuwait working with Kuwait Oil Co.
He is survived by his wife, Brunhilde, of the home; one daughter, Carolyn Featherston and husband, Gary, Ardmore; five sons, Donald Rossman and wife, Judy, Tulsa, Richard Rossman and wife, Kathy, Tallahassee, Fla., Jeffrey Mueller and wife, Linda, Keller, Texas, Quinn Mueller and wife, Michele, Ardmore, and Michael Mueller, Ardmore; a brother, Richard Rossman and wife, Betty, Olathe, Kan.; a niece, Anne McCort and husband, Bill, Olathe, Kan.; 10 grandchildren, Stephanie, Kris, Taylor and Conner Rossman, Britton Mueller, Joshua Allbaugh, Bryan Featherston, Olivia and Natalie and Charles Mueller; and four great-grandchildren.
