A Loco teenager was injured Monday evening when the pickup he was driving crashed on State Highway 53.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol said Zachary Thomas, 17, was taken to Mercy Hospital Ardmore by private vehicle following the 6:09 p.m. accident. He was admitted to the medical facility with multiple injuries. His condition was described as stable.
The patrol said Thomas was eastbound on the highway in a 1995 GMC pickup. The truck ran off the road for an unknown reason and hit a tree.
Thomas was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
The teenager was alone in the truck and no other vehicles were involved in the collision.
Cause of the crash was listed as a distraction inside the vehicle.
