MADILL — The Marshall Chamber of Commerce Christmas Parade promises to be one of the best events for the holiday season. In addition to the parade, which takes place at 10 a.m., Dec. 15, there will be a number of activities taking place in the square. Those activities include a petting zoo, along with handouts of candy, hot chocolate and mini cinnamon buns. Sponsors and businesses will also hand out peanuts and balloons.
"We are hoping for more attendance this year with the activities in the square," Kate Brennan, Marshall County Chamber of Commerce Executive Director, said. "We are also hoping for good weather."
Brennan said the parade is a fundraiser for Santa's Elves, which is sponsored by INCA Community Services, Inc.
"If someone would like to enter the parade with a float or car, they can contact the chamber," Brennan said. "The registration fee is an unwrapped toy in the $10 price range or a non-perishable item, which will be donated to Santa's Elves."
The parade will enter the square; circle around and head back out. The festivities in the square will begin at 9 a.m.
