Services for Luther Eugene Jones, 84, will be Saturday morning, November 24 at 11 a.m. in the Harvey-Douglas Centennial Chapel with Reverend Don Clark officiating. Interment followed at Lone Grove Cemetery. A time of visitation and support for the family will be this evening from 6 p.m. till 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
The son of the late Luther Thomas and Jewell Risner Jones, he was born August 27, 1928, in Lone Grove and passed away November 20 in an Oklahoma City hospital.
Luther was a graduate of Texas Tech University, served in the US Army during the end of World War II and was honorably discharged. He married the former Barbara Lee Bandy and lived in Borger, Texas, until moving here in 1970.
He began working for Uniroyal Tire Company, now Michelin, and retired as Warehouse Supervisor. Barbara preceded him in death April 15, 2006.  He married June Maddox, May 12, 2007, in Dallas.
Luther enjoyed working crossword puzzles especially the New York Times puzzle. He also enjoyed gardening, cooking and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Ardmore.
He is survived by his wife, June of the home; son, Monty Jones and wife, Jackie of Lone Grove; daughter, Carmel Jones also of Lone Grove; stepsons, R.J. and Greg Maddox; two sisters, Mary Baskin and Dottie Judd both of Dallas, Texas; and three grandchildren, Jessica Jones of Las Vegas, Nev., Beth and Evie Jones of Lone Grove; and numerous nieces and nephews.  
Two sisters, Betty Marvin and Martha Copas also preceded him death.
Pallbearers will be Jim Young, Barry Harris, Jim Judd, Glenn Marvin, Cole Risner and Al Crawford.
