Funeral services for Bob Allen Brown will be held 2 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2012 at the First Baptist Church of Davis with Pastor Luke Pantor officiating. Interment will follow at the Green Hill Cemetery.
Bob was born Feb. 18, 1934 in Davis to Isham Gene & Leona Dell (Rogers) Brown. He died Saturday, Nov. 24, 2012 in Sulphur, at the age of 78 years 9 months and 6 days.
Bob was a lifetime resident of Davis. Early in his teenage years, he worked for Doyle Dalley at the Ice Dock and delivering drilling mud. He then began working in the oilfield where he rough necked with his brother-in-law Wayne and Tom Jack Knapp. In his later years, Bob worked with Tom Jack doing custom hay bailing for the public. Bob had a great love for horses and rodeos. He enjoyed going to the coffee shop every morning visiting with his friends. Bob was a member of the First Baptist Church of Davis, joining in 1956.
Survivors include his two sisters, Betty Webb & husband Wayne of Davis and Velma Wells of Norman; aunt, Dora Lee Stewart of Pauls Valley; uncle, Carl Brown of Ardmore; two great nieces, Whitney & Courtney Wells of Blanchard; two great nephews, Tristin White of Tecumseh and Sage Gandenburg of Norman; as well as numerous cousins.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents; nephew Chad Webb and his very best friend, Tom Jack Knapp.
Serving as pallbearers will be Bobby Webb, Roy Webb, Houston "Hoot" Rogers, Charley "Gub" Rogers, Darin Rogers and Monte "Goober" Holland. Honorary bearers will be Cecil Sides, Carl Summers, Billy "PeeWee" Thomasson and W.A. England.
