  • Graveside services for Claudia Mae (Helton) Hamilton, 90, of Ardmore, Okla., are set for 2 p.m. Friday, November 30, 2012, in Lakeview Cemetery, Marietta, Okla., with her son, the Rev. Sam Porter, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Marietta.
    Mrs. Hamilton was born June 21, 1922, in Denton, Texas, the daughter of Willie Carl and Amanda Ruth Yarbrough Helton. She passed away Tuesday, November 27, in an Ardmore healthcare facility.
    A 1940 graduate of Gainesville High School, Gainesville, Texas, Mrs. Hamilton had been a resident of Love and Carter Counties most of her life. She was an employee of Southwestern Bell Telephone Company in Marietta and Madill and also Skychef/American Airlines at Will Rogers World Airport in Oklahoma City, Okla. She and Roy Wilson Porter were married in Gainesville on December 8, 1940. Claudia was a people person who enjoyed all types of individuals. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Ardmore.
    Preceding her in death were her parents; and a brother, Carl "Sonny" Helton.
    She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Ron and Michelle Porter of Marietta and Sam and Sheryl Porter and Carl and Glenda Porter of Oklahoma City; daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Lewis Green of Ardmore; six brothers and sister-in-law, Robert Helton of Montague, Texas, David Helton of North Carolina, Johnny and Jean Helton of Gainesville, Bo Helton of Walnut Bend, Texas, Jody Helton of Saint Jo, Texas, and Les Helton of Texas; sister, Pat Broyles of Saint Jo; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
    Viewing will be from 8:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
    The family would like to thank Dr. Tom O'Connor and the Southbrook Healthcare staff for their many years of caring for their mother.
