Glenis Leon "Glen" Scivally, long-time Thackerville, Okla., resident, passed away Thursday, November 29, 2012 in the Denton Regional Medical Center in Denton, Texas, at the age of 71. Funeral services for Mr. Scivally will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, December 3, 2012, in the First United Methodist Church located at 214 S. Denton Street in Gainesville, Texas, with the Rev. Don Yeager officiating. Interment will follow in Lakeview Cemetery in Marietta, Okla. Visitation will be held today from 3 - 5 p.m. at the Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home Chapel in Marietta.
Glen was born January 7, 1941, in Addington Bend, Okla., the son of M.C. Scivally and Ethel Fanny Bond Scivally. He grew up and attended schools in Thackerville where he served as his Class President and Salutatorian. Glen attended the University of Texas-Arlington where he received his Bachelor's degree in business and then went on to get his license as a C.P.A. Glen married early in life and moved to Gainesville and Fort Worth as he followed employment. He held a position with NCH for 31 years in which he served as Treasurer and Executive Vice President until his retirement in 2004. During this tenure, he also held an international position in England for three years. In 2006, Glen returned to the Gainesville/Thackerville area.
Glen loved listening to vintage Country Western music. He traveled the world extensively and even traveled the U.S. on motorcycle. He loved cars and working on things. In his down time you would likely catch Glen enjoying a smoothie or eating some Blue Bell ice cream.
Glen had two previous marriages. The first to Jean Kelley, who preceded him in death. The couple bore two children who survive, Rick and wife, Jeneth Scivally of Arlington, Texas, and Jay Scivally and wife, Dawn of Ovilla, Texas. The union to his second wife, Jo Beadle of Mineral Wells, Texas, bore one adopted child, Ryan Austin Scivally of Bedford, Texas. Glen later married Kathye Davis-Scivally who survives of the home. From this union came two stepchildren, Paige Owens and husband, Todd of Grapevine, Texas, and Blake Irwin of Little Elm, Texas. Additional survivors include three brothers, Thurman Scivally and wife, Ann of Gainesville, Roy Scivally and wife, Rosalind of Haltom City, Texas, and Don Scivally and wife, Linda of Thackerville; 15 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.Glen was also preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Vernon Scivally.
Casket bearers will be Jacob Scivally, Daniel Scott, Dale Scivally, Rob Scivally, Todd Owens and Danny Scivally.
Memorial contributions in Glen's name can be left with the First United Methodist Church, 214 S. Denton, Gainesville, TX 76240 "Future Carport Fund," or to the National Parkinson's Foundation.
