Truth is Stranger than Fiction

Phillip Capshaw provides his own unique perspective on everything from local to world events and, as the blog title suggests, believes that nothing is funnier than observing the comical nature of our fellow man and especially Southern Oklahomans. Phillip is a native of Ardmore, Oklahoma, with varied interests who likes to poke fun at almost any group and occupation, but feels as if there is much to make fun of in passing the mirror everyday.

Music is just about everywhere on TV these days - except in most shows' opening credits. The glory days of the TV title song may be long gone, but a few new series are keeping the theme alive.
Most notably, ABC's comedy Malibu Country boasts a traditional opening tune. When it came time to put the show's title credits together, it made perfect sense to ask star Reba McEntire to choose the song. McEntire - who also performed the opening theme to her last sitcom, Reba ("I'm a Survivor") - came back with "Goodbye Looks Good on Me," written by Kellys Collins, Juliana Cole and Jeff Smith.
Here are the titles and talent behind some of this fall's new TV opening themes.
Ben and Kate (Fox)
The Song: "Get Up Again"
The Artist: Michael Andrews, whose credits include the music for Donnie Darko, Freaks and Geeks and Bridesmaids. He also composed the main title to Fox's New Girl with star Zooey Deschanel.
The Mindy Project (Fox)
The Song: "Mindy"
The Artist: Jesse Novak, a composer whose brother is B.J. Novak, the former star and executive producer of The Office.
Guys With Kids (NBC)
The Song: "Walk When You Can Run"
The Artist: Jimmy Fallon, the comedy's executive producer, performs the song, which was written by Amy Miles and Michael Robertson.
Nashville (ABC)
The Song: Nashville theme
The Artist: T Bone Burnett and Keefus Green. Burnett, who's married to Nashville creator Callie Khouri, is an Oscar-winning musician (Crazy Heart); he and Green have collaborated on several projects. Green earned an Emmy nomination for composing Saving Grace.
