  • A traffic stop Saturday afternoon led to the arrest of a 20-year-old Ardmore man for possession of a stolen GPS and opened an investigation into whether he is the legitimate owner of scrap metal piled in the back of his pickup.
Sgt. Brice Woolly, Ardmore Police Department Patrol Division, said the man was stopped shortly after 2 p.m. in the 900 block of Myall Road, when officers saw a substantial amount of unsecured scrap metal protruding from the back of his pickup. During the stop, a stolen GPS was discovered. Woolly said the suspect was arrested and booked into the county jail on a pending possession of stolen property charge.
Was the scrap metal, including copper, in the back of his pickup stolen? Woolly said an investigation in the ownership of the metal remains under investigation.
